Cubeworld is a Gay Orgy
December 29th, 2006I often come late to the party. But when I finally get there, I can usually tell who’s locked together in the bathroom, who’s upstairs making out in the shower stall, and — most definitely — who’s in the closet. I came across an interesting “toy” (for lack of a better word) called CubeWorld. Cubeworld is essentially a 1.5 inch cube of your very own, it comes in different colors, and each color corresponds to a different “character” who does different things. Let me explain: each cube has a tiny LCD display. Displayed in each little “window” is the rough, pixelated effigy of a man. These “men” have names (like Dusty or Hans, for example), vocations (like fireman or cop), and proclivities (like playing with a stick or keeping his cube clean). Wait, it gets better. The individual cubes of Cubeworld can be “hooked up”, creating cube constellations of virtually infinite size. Although the men of Cubeworld enjoy interactions with their human owner, when left to their own devices… Well, I’ll just quote the Cubeworld web site “When Cube Worlds are connected, the stick men will interact with each other and leap into neighboring screens, completely unaided. You can arrange your cubes in any configuration as long as the cubes are touching squarely. Once linked you never know what the characters will do. Put Slim and Dodger together and they could play baseball; Scoop and Slim might play fetch with the dog and stick. Your stick men might even perform an impromptu synchronized dance routine, play leapfrog, have a group hug, a tug of war, or indulge in a full on brawl!” Nuff said?
